Biography |
| My artwork interprets a variety of personal influences. The most readily visible of these is my private orchid collection. Contemporary design, pop culture, cartoons, nature, science, and philosophy have also played a large role in my work.
Mother Nature offers me an unlimited source of inspiration as abstract images and shapes create balanced and coherent compositions. Although these compositions are abstracted enough to permit the viewer to imagine their own meaning, I concentrate on ideas of communication, adaptation, growth, and reproduction. Black outlines in my work allow me to seemingly paint and draw at the same time as well as create a connective quality between colors. And in dealing with color, my choices are made symbolically to set moods or reference things or ideas not necessarily represented in the imagery.
